3 Hot Tips For Giving Thanks
I always do a Moment on gratitude this time of year. So, in honor of my own Thanksgiving tradition – here are a few tips for giving thanks…
#1 It Can Happen Anytime
Gratitude is not reserved for the Thanksgiving table. Giving thanks can/should happen anytime, all the time. Try a mental gratitude list while driving in your car, taking a shower, brushing your teeth, making a meal. My current favorite is a gratitude walk – I just talk out loud during my morning exercise – energized in both body & spirit.
#2 Let It Flow
Go for the stream of consciousness – not just one or two “I’m grateful for” statements but everything you can think of. Look around you – notice who & what you take for granted. Be specific, give some detail & color to your gratitude.
#3 Share It
Private gratitude is great, but it’s the sharing that makes it exponential. It’s why going around the Thanksgiving table saying what you are thankful for is such a feel good. Tell people what you are grateful for, post it on social media, send an email/text, leave a post it note for your co-worker, friend, kid, significant other. Let it go viral!
May you be filled with the lift of gratitude this holiday season.
